Notice that most of your plate should be full of vegetables

  • Strive for variety in your veggies
  • Incorporate lots of colors
  • Try new veggies!

Fruits should be whole fruits 

  • Keep them washed and accessible
  • Try adding dried fruits to your food

Half of your grains should be whole grains

  • Popcorn, whole-grain pasta and cereal make great choices

Vary your protein selections

  • Incorporate lean cuts of meat, nuts and seafood
  • Canned seafood like tuna and salmon make easy, nutrient-dense choices

Choose low-fat or fat-free dairy items

  • Make a smoothie with fresh or frozen fruit!
